Introducing "Streets of Monaco," the World's First $1 Billion Super Yacht

Introducing "Streets of Monaco," the World's First $1 Billion Super Yacht.

Multimillion-dollar yachts are so 2010.
So to help oligarchs and tax exiles keep pace in 2011, U.K.-based Yacht Island Design has dreamed up the "Streets of Monaco," a $1.1-billion super yacht modeled on Monte Carlo, the municipality within the principality that is known for its high-rolling casino and luxury resorts. The four-story liner, which will stretch for more than 500 feet, will include a casino, race track, go-kart circuit, multiple tennis courts, and pools with swim-in Jacuzzi bars. Rather than having decks the ship will have buildings, including a replica of Monaco's famed Hotel de Paris. The lucky owners will be able to enjoy their champagne kisses and caviar dreams on a helipad, beside waterfalls and in a restaurant with underwater views.

VeriSign Shares IDN Plans with Investors

VeriSign Shares IDN Plans with Investors

Company updates investors on internationalized domain names.
Yesterday VeriSign released fourth quarter results. On the investor conference call CEO Mark McLaughlin answered questions regarding the market opportunity for internationalized domain names, or IDNs.
McLaughlin explained “You could expect us to bid on all of the transliterations for .com and .net” when the new gTLD process is opened up.
Of course ‘all’ is a big number. I expect the company to apply for 15-20 so-called IDN equivalents of .com.
McLaughlin also said the company has about one million existing IDN second level domain name registrations for .com and .net combined.
It’s likely that owners of these existing second level IDNs will be able to pay to “unlock” the IDN equivalent, so that IDN.com becomes IDN.IDN.
(I’m not sure what would happen if VeriSign ever lost the .com contract, as it would still technically have the contracts for the IDN equivalents of .com. I doubt anyone has considered that in the new gTLD process. The same goes for other registries to apply for “IDN equivalents”.)
VeriSign expects the first batch of new gTLDs to come online in 2012, which looks likely given recent developments at ICANN.

India Gets 7 New IDN Domain Name ccTLDs

India Gets 7 New IDN Domain Name ccTLDs
India gets seven IDN ccTLDS and more good news for IDN domain name supporters.

One thing I learned on my trip to India earlier this month is that there are a lot of local languages.

This week ICANN approved delegation of seven (yes, seven) internationalized county code domain names to National Internet Exchange of India. The delegated ccTLDs include भारत (“Bharat”), encoded as “xn--h2brj9c”; بھارت “Bharat”), encoded as “xn--mgbbh1a71e”; భారత్ (“Bharat”), encoded as “xn--fpcrj9c3d”; ભારત (“Bharat”), encoded as “xn--gecrj9c”; ਭਾਰਤ (“Bharat”), encoded as “xn--s9brj9c”; இந்தியா (“Bharat”), encoded as “xn--xkc2dl3a5ee0h”; and ভারত (“Bharat”), encoded as “xn--45brj9c.

Also getting the nod this week: a Korean ccTLD for Republic of Korea, Chinese and Tamil ccTLDs for Singapore, and an Arabic ccTLD for the Syrian Arab Republic.

In other good news for IDN supporters, it looks like new gTLDs may actually move forward at March’s ICANN meeting, opening up the door for internationalized “equivalents” of existing top level domain names.

Has ICANN & Verisign Dropped The Ball?

Well Its hard to believe...but its been 10 years since IDN Domain Names were first introduced, and available for purchase.
Many domainers jumped on board, and started to purchase these new domain names in several different languages, in the .com/.net extentions.
Verisign is the company that controls the .com/.net extentions, and they have gained large a large amount of revenue over the last 10 years, from the registrations, and yearly renewal fees.
In fact I think I can confidently say, that the domainers who have purchased these .com/.net IDN domain names are responsible in a very big way, for the furthering of IDN Domain Names in general.
As a group, IDN Domainers were extremely happy to know that ICANN was finally moving forward, with  implementation of  full IDN for the.com/.net., particularly since without the involvement and investment in these IDNs, and the belief that they would be an integral part of the future of the internet, the IDN Domain Name industry, would be dead in the water.
So what have they done?
They implemented IDN fast track for IDN ccTLDs, or country code extentions, and have left .com/.net  IDN
owners high and dry, in their dust
There is no question that the .com/.net IDNs will be aliased to include the respective transliterations in their repective languages...but what is the DELAY?
I know that these continual ICANN meetings, (at prestigious locations), year in and year out, with upscale lodgings and fine dining are a pretty good gig for these ICANN officials to have, and getting things done, might not be the modis operandi, in order to continue to enjoy these perks, for an extended period of time.
Its time to get your heads out of the sand, ICANN, and move the agenda along.
And while your at it, Verisign, start doing something for the people who have been filling your wallets for a decade! Who's steering the ships at ICANN and Verisign?
There is no excuse for this kind of Ineptitude!

카지노.kr (Casino.kr) Korean - Sells For $11,500

카지노.kr (Casino) Sells For $11,500 in the most recent Sedo sales report.
The .com version Sold in Sept for 10,000, and the Hindi version कैसिनो.com also sold for $10,000 in September.
Very good deals for the buyers IMHO, and just a fraction of the price they will net, if they ever come up for sale again.

IDN Domain Names - The Best Place To Learn About This Great Domain Name Investment!

IDN Domain Names - The Best Place To Learn About This Great Domain Name Investment!

I've been a regular at IDN Forums, for almost 6 years, now.
A fellow domainer had put me on to IDN Domain Names, and this was the original (and only) place to learn, buy and trade, at the time.
I was tired of trying to acquire any Domain Names of significance, and since I didn't have a 3 inch thick wallet, it wasn't going to happen any time soon!
I found it amazing, that Great IDNs could be registered, very reasonably, I may add, and I saw that the potential for growth was astronomical!
There are several thousand members registered at IDN Forums, and many new members registering every day. Of significant  importance, is the fact that there are a large number of members who are very knowledgeable, in every aspect of the Domain Name business, but in particular IDNs.
The membership there, includes almost all ethnic origins and languages, which is of great importance for any new IDN followers, as they can find help with any questions they may have regarding IDN Domain Names.
Since that time there are a great number of IDN related websites, and a number of additional language forums as well.
There are some SUPER deals available on the sales and auction forums, every day, and if you are at all interested...you could easily acquire a VERY GOOD portfolio, for a Very Reasonable price.
This portfolio, IMHO, will be worth a great deal, going forward.
If you think that IDN Domain Names are something you should investigate...you owe it to yourself  to check it out...you certainly won't be disappointed.

Why Should You Invest In IDNs?

Why Should You Invest In IDNs?
A few good friends started a casual email discussion as to why IDNs are valuable. Spurred on by their thoughtful responses, here are my thoughts on the matter:

Pent-Up Demand Leading to Future Value:
In many countries IDNs will displace Latin domains as the domains of choice since native language domains are preferred.......

Which Is The Better IDN Domain Name?

In order to determine which is the best IDN Domain Name value, we need to look at a number of variables.
After some consideration, I would say that in most languages the ccTLD extention would be in most cases somewhat more valuable.
However, in some cases, such as Geographical domain names, I feel the .com, and transliteration, which will be included in the ownership of the .com , will be more valuable. The reason for this, is it just fits better, and also is not reserved or regulated by the Government where the ccTLD resides.
This would cover most languages, in my opinion.
As, far as the Arabic, and Indian languages, are concerned, I would have to go with the .com version.
In the case of Arabic, because there are so many countries that speak it, the .com would have more connection with the population, as a whole.
This may also be the case, with the Indian Domain Names, as there several different dialects, used within the overall population.

IDN Domain Names - The BIGGEST Change To The Internet Since Its Inception!

IDN Domain Names - The BIGGEST Change To The Internet Since Its Inception!

Remember when the Internet was born, and you were able to purchase Domain Names for the Very First Time?
Some people were wise, and invested in this New Opportunity.
Virtual Real Estate was born!
Real Estate, that didn't cost hundreds of thousands of dollars...but just $10.
Later on we discovered that these pieces of real estate, were worth huge amounts of money.
Geographical Locations, Financial Terms, Products and Services, could all be purchased, and Prime Generic terms are worth BIG Money.

At one time you could purchase a decent Domain Name for a few thousand dollars.
Not Any More!
People are snapping up names that don't even make sense, like HomeInsurancesQuotes.com, and CarsRentals.com, etc, etc...
Why are Good Generic Names Worth So Much?
Prime Generic Terms, in Domain Names, when developed will place you high on the Search Engines, and bring you massive amounts of TRAFFIC and REVENUE.

Prime Generic Terms can also draw a large amount of type-in traffic, and therefore good revenue as well.
The problem is, ALL these names were purchased within a short period of time, and in order to acquire them, you MUST be very Wealthy, or you can forget about even trying.
Not so with IDNs (Internationalized Domain Names).
Prime Generic Terms are STILL Available to Purchase, At Very Reasonable Prices.
But Just as before, with English (ascii) Domain Names, they will become Extremely Valuable, as exposure to them increases. The Wise person will see this, and get involved, before these Domain Names, rise in value, and become unreachable to the average person.
Isn't it TIME you  had a Closer Look at this MASSIVE Opportunity, before it Slips Away?

Why IDNs Should Matter to Domain Investors

Why IDNs Should Matter to Domain Investors

Posting on Elliots Blog
My wife and I had dinner the other night with Aaron Krawitz and his wife, Emily. Aaron and I met at a New York domain investor get together, and not only are we both domain investors, but our wives are in the same year of graduate school working on a similar degree. Aaron is an Ivy-League graduate and currently works at a prestigious New York firm.
While our wives talked about internships and the field of Psychology, Aaron and I talked about domain names and investing. Aaron has significant IDN domain name investments, and I know next to nothing about them. I asked Aaron if he would write a guest post about IDNs so I can share with my readers why he and others are so passionate about them. Aaron and his business partner, Gary Males, wrote the following. Hope you enjoy.

HOW To Buy Domain Names in YOUR OWN Language.

Hi, again.
I am going to start adding more posts regarding IDNs (Internationalised Domain Names) on a regular basis from here on.
As in any Domain Name purchase, the top categories to look for would be GEO, or Geographical Names, Cities, Towns, Resort areas. As the ccTLDs are relaeased in IDN, they will probably be reserved by the governments where these places are located. In this case the IDN.com will be the only option available, and thus will be very valuable.
Note: Ownership of IDN.com Domain Names will also give the .com owner rights the the .com equivalent in each respective name, in each respective language.
Sometimes they will also be valuable if being a Resort area for a particular demographic. For example, if a Turkish resort area is highly frequented by a Russian clientele...owning this Turkish location, in Russian would be a wise choice.
Financial and Investment related Domain Names, would be a top priority, as well, as they tend to earn higher amounts, when parked or sold.
In the same quality, would be certain service related Domain Names, such as Insurance related terms.
After that, I would be looking for Generic products, like Coffee, Bathrooms, Furniture, etc.
Most of these Domain Names will no doubt, already be registered by someone already, however, they can still be purchased on the secondary market at prices that when looking back in a couple years will be deemed Very, Very Cheap.
Are there opportunities, in this market?....YES! I have SOLD more than once, IDN Domain Names that I paid only $7.99, for $10,000, and several at somewhat less money. And this without Business, and the general public having any Knowledge, of the availability of IDNs!
This is NOW starting to change, and Knowledge of IDNs, is about to become mainstream.
The Snowball has started rolling down the hill, the horse has bolted from the barn, etc,etc...
The Value of IDN domain Names, are about to climb, to more equal level of its ascii/English counterparts.
In fact, in a couple of years, and possibly/probably sooner, I would not expect to purchase anything of any value/significance, without having a very thick wallet!
With this in mind...if you are going to jump intp this HUGE Investment OPPORTUNITY, you need to do it NOW!
